About
Faith in God has brought me this far. Let’s see where it takes us now. I have a book of stories from teaching speech and language (reading included) for thirty two years full-time. Thirty in the same county and same base school. I suspended my retirement to teach the last two full-time years in the county above for a friend. I contract therapy now for that county. I have thought about putting it into a book and submitting it. I have been writing one book for kids that apparently people get lost in the story and forget to help edit it. A good sign and yet, frustrating. I tend to write in passive voice, which apparently I am not supposed to do. Oh well, my paperwork has passed court standards and a local education advocate writer even copied my project from donor’s choose. Not bad for little school marm, if I do say so.
I was diagnosed severely and profoundly dyslectic in ninth grade. I had already fought many battles to learn to read and write, Not learning to read was not an option in a military household. Failure was not an option, figure it out. We pretty much has by then, but Momma got the justification for denying their testing when I was in third grade. I wasn’t what they said and she was right. They were a little late. My Mom taught me to read. I never want what I went through to be what another goes through, if I can stop it. I write poems and a few were published back when submitted them. Again, you don’t have to like them. I do have the right to write them.
I have Irlene’s syndrome tied with my dyslexia. So, my lenses are tinted blue. I can’t read red letters unless I close one eye. I actually force them to move back which I can’t fully explain, but neither can the experts. It gives me headache though, so, I usually copy it and turn it gray. I will post things of interest to me. You don’t have to agree with me. I don’t have to agree with you. We both have the right to speak. Join us for the ride.
I will post art too. Right now, I am drawing the characters in the children’s book that I am writing while selling tie dye shirts and other items. I make jewelry and have crafted in various mediums. So, there is no telling what I will make or post as far as art.
I believe in the constitution of the United States. I think Alabama’s is dated and way passed time to be revised and re-ratified. Especially, since it says it is supposed review at least every twelve years. Number 102 needs to go. The word “male” I front of citizen can go too. 1901 was 120 years ago. Catch up Alabama! Florida’s is better, but not much … last ratified in1968, that is still 53 years ago. Did they all get lackadaisical? Complacent? Both? Time will tell, but we have to hold the people in office to the rule of law and the US constitution. Be nice, it cost nothing to be nice. Be respectful to others, it will not break your jaw.
